The Multidimensional Nature of Awareness

Awareness defies simple categorization, existing as a phenomenon that transcends the boundaries of ordinary language and rational thought. It spans across multiple planes of existence—from our primal sensory perceptions to the most elevated spiritual realms. At its core, awareness represents the expansiveness of perception through which we interpret and make meaning of reality.

Consider the humble ant, whose world is confined to the microscopic terrain immediately surrounding it. The ant perceives only what exists within its limited sensory range, oblivious to the vast landscape that stretches beyond. Now, contrast this with the soaring hawk, whose aerial vantage point reveals patterns, connections, and relationships invisible from below. The hawk perceives not just isolated objects but entire ecosystems in motion—the flow of rivers, the movement of creatures, the contours of mountains and valleys forming a cohesive whole.

This metaphor illuminates the spectrum of human consciousness. Some individuals navigate life with ant-like awareness—focused on immediate concerns, personal needs, and the visible surface of reality. Others cultivate a hawk-like perspective that perceives underlying patterns, recognizes interconnections between seemingly separate phenomena, and comprehends the greater context in which all experience unfolds.

Beyond the Prison of Duality

The journey of consciential evolution can be understood as a progressive liberation from the constraints of dualistic thinking. The human mind, particularly in its ego-identified state, instinctively divides experience into opposing pairs: good versus evil, right versus wrong, pleasure versus pain, us versus them. This binary framework, while useful for certain practical functions, ultimately fragments our understanding of reality.

When trapped within dualistic perception, we inevitably align ourselves with one pole while rejecting its opposite. This creates internal division and external conflict. Politics offers a striking illustration of this tendency, as individuals become entrenched in ideological positions that prevent dialogue and mutual understanding. Yet this phenomenon extends far beyond politics, permeating our relationships, ethical decisions, and even spiritual beliefs.

The Integration of Opposites

The transition from material-ego consciousness to soul-spiritual awareness entails a fundamental shift in how we relate to apparent contradictions. While the material dimension thrives on separation and categorization, the spiritual dimension embodies integration and wholeness. Rather than identifying with particular viewpoints or positions, spiritual awareness cultivates a witnessing presence characterized by equanimity and inclusivity.

This elevated perspective doesn’t operate through opposition but through complementarity. It recognizes that apparent contradictions often represent different aspects of a more comprehensive truth. Light and shadow, creation and destruction, silence and sound—these aren’t enemies to be pitted against each other but partners in an intricate cosmic dance.

Where the dualistic mind creates boundaries and divisions, expanded consciousness perceives the underlying unity that connects all phenomena. This doesn’t mean erasing distinctions or falling into relativism, but rather developing the capacity to hold multiple perspectives simultaneously while recognizing their place within a greater whole.

WHAT MAKES IT UNIQUE
You won’t find many assessments of this kind online; in fact, the field of human consciousness arouses little interest on a general level. Our psychological and spiritual survey instrument is therefore unique, and during its development we joined all our forces to create a questionnaire that was both profound and complex but also suitable for people approaching this topic for the first time. That is why each question has as many as 7 different answers, each one corresponding to a specific level of awareness. Cheating is virtually impossible.
Contributing to its creation were researchers in the fields of spiritual disciplines and psychology. It has nothing to do with personality tests based on choosing a color, an animal or things like that. To finish, once you have completed the test you will find an in-depth article on the topic of awareness and its spiritual implications.

Nice but I didn’t expect it to be so challenging. Definitely a lot more detailed than the free quizzes!

I consider myself to be a self-aware person, and this assessment confirmed that. I congratulate the people who developed it because I can see there’s a lot of effort behind it.
